![]() Using 'copy' and 'paste in place' before you use the pathfinder tool helps a bunch too. You can then either cut the 'D' object through the lines, or the 'Doll' object, or you can combine the two and cut that through the lines. (It's Ctrl+8 on PC) (Oh, and don't have the individual peices ina group, just select them all together but not as a 'grouped object') You then need to create them as a compound path (not a clipping mask), so that you can cut through them all as one object. You need to take your lines, and as mentioned select them all and expand appearance. You want to be able to have something appear inside the 'Doll + D' shape correct? I just need to understand - you want the doll shape and the D to be one object, and you want that object to knock through the lines. Hey bud, I've read what you're trying and everyone elses help and such. I just put that stuff on there to get my point across. If I didn't, please let me know.Įdit: Oh, and this isn't the logo I'm trying to make. I don't wanted to just make the shape white, however, because I want to put something underneath it all because of this it needs to remain transparent. So everything inside that shape would be white, and you'd see a white outline on the letter and on the lines. What I'm trying to do is essentially burn the outline of that paper doll symbol through everything that's below it. So I put a D there.Īnd then I used this paper doll-esque symbol from the symbol window and put it on top. ![]() Let's say I wanted to add a letter right in the middle of it. I drew a bunch of lines and had the distributed evenly up and down the board. I'm a lot more familiar with Photoshop, but this is a different animal. ![]() My first mini project I'm working on is making a fake logo just to get familiar with everything. ![]()
